1975s were tasted on Monday 21
st July 2025, at the
Boot & Flogger, as arranged by

Well done and thank you for sorting out an excellent evening, Martin!
In summary, I feel that the 1975s comprise some wines which are, indeed, quite solid (see WOTN analysis), but in general these wines seem to lack the “zip” I’m looking for which I find in other vintages in the around 50 yo range (the “zip” being something which I, unfortunately, fail to be able to articulate).
After the tasting, I had a bottle of G85 (as the venue had ran apparently out of F85(!)) which also seemed to fall into the lack-of-zip category. Maybe I have Covid or something similar?!

Well that’s fairly decisive. Taylor or Fonseca 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, which probably hasn’t happened before save at a Taylor v Fonseca tasting…
