Diez Hermanos 1970: orange-brown, 30% opaque; palate = “oranges, Cointreau, so interesting, but not actually good.”

Reddish brown. Nose mute. Palate quite nice. Prunes. Cream. Good. Still drinking well on re-examination later. A point from me.

1970 Diez Hermanos, Oporto bottled. An attractive and bright colour in the glass, mature bronzed red that is 40% opaque. Gentle jellied fruit nose. Pleasant jellied fruit on the palate which grows nicely to a decent volume. The aftertaste is a little harsh but the overall presentation of the wine is rather nice. I would enjoy this if opened for home drinking. It’s gentle and full of jellied fruit. 87/100. Double decanted 9 hours.
