SW70: glorious red, 50% opaque; senior Port, cherries both maraschino and red, spearmint, size, and general loveliness.

1970 Smith Woodhouse. Dark brick red colour, opaque centre with a wide rim. Some fruit on the nose, although a little harsh. On the palate the fruit is sweeter, but surprisingly lacking a little in depth of flavour. Good acidity, with unexpected cola flavoured fruit on the finish. A bit odd, but drinkable.  86/100. Double decanted 3 hours. Bottled by the Wine Society.

Good colour. Nose 'as porty as a porty thing'. But a little bit light on nose and palate. Fizzy cola on the finish. Pleasant but not a super bottle of this often enjoyable wine.

55% oapcity, rich red. Lovely rich mouthfeel, concentrated cranberries, very slight bitternedss, powerful finish.
