This was a serious vertical of seriously mature Taylor’s Port, 1878 to 1948, on Monday 13th October 2025 at Noble Rot, Mayfair, as arranged by Alex Bridgeman of BFT fame.

While a decent colour, this is the palest of the four bottles I’m bringing.

Provenance is that the bottle was acquired at the Christie’s New York sale at the Rockerfeller Plaza on 14 October 2006 and carried by hand back to the UK.

T1878. Orange, 20% opaque. Palate utterly of crisp orange marmalade, very long, light. Far past prime, but still a joy.
