A zombie / in-law invasion needed to be escaped by one of us, and another proposed that the theme be ‘Vintage Port that you would like to drink if you had not Vintage Port for 7 months’. At the Boot & Flogger, on Monday 29th December 2025.

G48, Dolamore bottling. dark-red, 70% opaque. Light, sweet, cherry, lovely mature Port, but junior to the ’45s.

Graham 1948, bottled by Dolamore. Incredibly dark red with a hint of brick in the tone, 50% opaque. Stunning nose of spiced red fruit, incredibly expressive. Smooth and together on the palate, a touch of spice and wonderful concentrated fruit. The concentration of fruit on the aftertaste is stunning, with the fruit persisting throughout the aftertaste and finish. Stunning wine, much better than the 1945s. 98/100. Decanted 1 hour.
