1963 Taylor

Post by jdaw1 »

A zombie / in-law invasion needed to be escaped by one of us, and another proposed that the theme be ‘Vintage Port that you would like to drink if you had not Vintage Port for 7 months’. At the Boot & Flogger, on Monday 29th December 2025.

Taylor 1963, bottled by Peatling & Cawdron. Double decanted 3 hours, in the glass for 4 hours. Dark Red with a touch of the brick colour. A lovely spiced redcurrant and cranberry fruit on the nose. The palate is dominated by fruit but is backed by lively acidity, with a lovely sweet rose-water aftertaste and finish. Youthful, and delicious. 93/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
