Absolutely. Love the cork rest concept.

Worried about the performance of your vehicle with the present oil problems when visiting your friends ?
You need the latest Mk2 Cork Stand.
Muppet Labs Inc constantly strive to provide its ever growing customer base with constantly increasing grades of enhanced performance and reliability.
As a result of numerous customer interactions, feedback and real world trials we have redesigned the patented cork stand to provide a lighter weight and low profile product achieving a staggering 33% reduction in weight from 9 grams to 6 grams.
A further functional enhancement is the high tech modifications that allows the Mk2 Port Cork stand to now also support wine corks for those who have run out of Port (??)

According to Google AI (a gospel of complete truth) these changes will result in the saving of almost a single penny over a 140000 mile life span of an average car - a saving not to be sniffed at!
In addition constructed of light weight English oak the product now boasts better contrast between the cork and the stand itself allowing the end consumer to show off their Dow 1842 cork from the bottle acquired by their great-great-grandfather from his friend Robert Cosier (assuming you can get the cork out of the bottle in one piece) to friends, family and other geeks who are into port.
Don't miss out on this opportunity to upgrade from the inferior Mk1 cork stand to this dramatically enhanced fuel efficient eco-friendly multi-product Mk2 offering.

Not sure that I would have modelled the Mark 2 with a 2013 cork though.

Crucial question: does the Mk2 also come with TPF branding?

I did enquire from
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew from Muppet Labs Inc as to his plans for product branding on the Mk2 variant, he explained that the Mk1 variant was laser cut but due to the light nature of the wood this solution was not that practical to scale.
It also had the down side that
Beaker suffered a nasty accident during the process which involved a 50mw laser .... he will however recover !
Other forms of product branding along with other enhancements are being considered

All the best inventions are things you did not realise you needed till after you saw it for the first time. Total genius,
The Port Forum branding creates a wonderful opportunity to provide a world class parting gift to wine makers when visiting the Douro.
Great job

I have partial sympathy with this. It might be that the book is ‘The Book’. But also, it might be that the extent of familiarity, the extent of just what-else-could-it-be?, is so great that it has slipped into colloquial lower case.
It would be immodest of me to suggest where it has reached.

Well, we're in TPF, and so 'The Book' is "Port Vintages - The Chronicle of Vintage Ports, from the Beginning".

I must admit, it's not easy to sneak the Mark 1 version into the house without the other half noticing. It's also quite a challenge to find bottles with corks big enough to fit on the Mark 1.
I'm relieved that the Mark 2 version is smaller and lighter.

Here we have a cork sans cork rest. As you can see, it runs the risk of rolling and thus falling off the table.

Dr. Bunsen Honeydew from Muppet Labs Inc and a trip to Hobby Craft have perfected a scalable solution for Branding the Mk2 Cork Stand.

The eagle eyed amongst you will also appreciate the addition of the felt base to the Cork Stand to prevent damage to surface it is placed upon - I guess one might argue that this make it the Mk3 version.

Will this come in a variety of wood stains? Harvest stain perhaps?

The placemat software has a
cork display page type. Does this page type need any improvements to fit better the new rests? (Size changes trivial, by parameters
CorkDisplayMinWidth and
CorkDisplayMinHeight.)

Viz used to have
Top Tips section — and maybe still does. I recall a mid-nineteen-nineties edition having a top tip of putting eggs in a bowl or other container, so that they don’t roll off the counter-top. Ever since I have followed this excellent advice.

I did try that with the Mk1 and then laser cut the stain away but it was a massive pain ....
The Mk3 naming is literally a John Bull Printing set with an ink pad ....

How about applying peel off adhesive letters and then stain? Or a reverse stencil. Granted they're a pain as well, but I imagine it would work.
The addition of the felt bottom is a luxurious touch. You can upcharge for that.

Humm not sure what to say about Muppet Labs Inc, but clearly they have never seen a proper sized bottle and only drink halves. Therefore I'm still not happy with limited selection of Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3. Where am I going to put the corks from a real sized bottle the magnum, the perfect size bottle a Tappet Hen or if you are having to share at lunch a Double Magnum. clearly they need to work on their range.

I wasn't sure about the printing set but now I have tried it I quite like it - the Felt bottom does add a certain level of luxury to the product !
Right now Muppet Labs Inc are working flat out on the format issues raised by members of the public .....
Trouble is they have opened a Double Magnum of Dow 1878 to size the cork and have forgotten to share the contents with friends ...
It may be a short time before we see a result .... Beaker did say he was pleasently suprised by the contents of the bottle tho .....

I'm very happy to share a Double Magnum or Tappet Hen with an American, if they drink like the ones at the LA event!
they left me with nearly too much port to drink which included the TH of Dow 1896.

As a result of overwhelming demand from the Port drinking world Muppet Labs Inc (who never sleep at night) are proud to release on the unsuspecting world the limited edition 'Dirty Harry' .44 Magnum cork stand.
.

- Limited Edition 44 magnum.jpg (374.14 KiB) Viewed 231 times
.
Produced in a strictly limited edition of 44 units, each one individually serial numbered and NOT signed by
Beaker, this product is available by invitation only to a select few Port aficionados and provides the perfect display platform for your Fonseca 1900 (Magnum / Tappet Hen / Double Magnum) cork while you and your friends enjoy the delicious contents of the bottle.
Longer, wider and in fact taller than the Mk2 and Mk3 cork versions it's an overall improvement on an already perfect product.
I know what you're thinking.
'Did he open six Magnums at Lunch or only five?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum Limited edition cork stand, the most impressive cork stand in the world, and another Magnum for lunch would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?'
Go ahead, Make my day and open another Magnum it is after all, a PFL!

Ever had that embarrassing situation at the Easy Jet gate while trying boarding your plane to Porto where the airline staff try to charge you an extra £500 because your hand luggage is 5 grams overweight?
Or perhaps your partners' shoe collection has taken you over the 50Kg weight allowance in Emirates First class?
Muppet Labs Inc have the solution for you
Its the Travel Cork stand (patent Pending).....
Not sure if your going to be drinking Magnums of Taylor 1833 on your weekend away or just indulging in a case of Fonseca 1934 with friends - you need the dual function cork stand, no need to pack two Port stands in your luggage, with the cunning design this stand can accommodate a range of cork sizes in one handy product and reduce your excess baggage costs to boot.
