Pop-n-pour this evening.

The nose reminds me of Coca-cola from an old-style bottle, perhaps even cola-cubes from the 1970's.

Medium weight and very evolved on the palate for its age. Black fruits with some bitterness and a very dry finish, but no real sense of tannic or acidic structure that would hold it together as it ages.

Pleasant enough to drink but no complexity and more like Reserve Ruby or an LBV than what I'd expect from a VP. Drink up.

Could this be a VP that’s shut down? It’s about the right age to be completely dumbed down.

It would be interesting to try again in 10 years to see how it changes.
