This is Blenheim Palace stock. Cork came out whole, and the wine poured clean to the last 25 ml as the sediment was resolutely stuck to the side opposite the label.
24 hour decant (kept in fridge) for this tasting note.
A lovely light garnet right to the rim. 45% opaque.
Nose has a nice cherries-in-kirsch note with the spirit appropriately muted.
Super smooth and not too sweet entry as some black cherry and mi-cuit fig join the kirsch; and a bracing hint of black pepper on the finish. Just a tinge of orange peel oil suggests this is in the last quartile of its life.
Brilliant port for drinking now.
