RP55, from MJRM — absent, but kindly donated bottles, for which my hat doffed.Good Port here. Light, slight spirit, a lovely structure-giving bitterness, with the finish its best part. But less full strength than ’55s can be. Improved with time in the glass.

MPM said “thin metallic”, which, though correct, was more critical than it deserved.

Lovely deep garnet, orange rim. Long, elegant, middleweight palate of red fruit with long finish. Gorgeous port. I thought it perhaps faded a little later, but remained very attractive. I gave it a port and I can understand why it was the crowd favourite.

Again, a kind donation, by someone who was sadly not present. Thank you.
