Taylor's Crusted

This weekend I got hold of a Taylor's Crusted (bottled in 1974).
Did some searching on the internet, but couldn't find anything on it, other than a mention on the FTLOP saying a Taylor's Crusted was somewhat of a rarity.
Does anyone here have any experience with it?

No experience of this port...but it should be really good. I love older bottlings of crusted ports.

Picking up a case of '78 Taylor Crusted won at auction this week. Suppose to be SOS, but do not know how bad. I assume it's minor, or least hope

The price was right!

A quick tasting note.

Very sweet, spirited, mature, ruby color. Faintly fresh at best. The sweetness is quite nice and not very Taylor tasting in general, but the spirit can be a lot for some.

I think this works well as a "poor man's vintage", but Dow may have the upper hand with Crusted.

A proper tasting will happen some time before the fall as I have a case of this.

The cork says Taylor Crusted bottled in 1978 too; quite cool looking.

Moses,

Could you please copy the TN to our TN section - or I could move it for you if you wish?

Thanks
Derek
