55 minutes after decanting this port had a deep orange centre and a distinctly orange rim. Again the nose was dominated by toffees and mandarins. Sweet entry into the mouth with concentrated mandarin syrup and plenty of other fruit flavours - this just keeps developing more and more layers as you hold it on your tongue. Wow! The aftertaste is massive and very long lasting. This is seriously impressive. 8/8 or 95/100.
1½ hours after decanting this wine had developed ground black pepper scents on the nose but was retaining its superb structure around its central core of acidity.
7 hours after decanting the nose had changed substantially to give a very light fresh vanilla pod. Still very impressive in the mouth, full bodied and great texture to go with the abundance of fruit. Great length still. 95/100. Drunk 9 February 2008.
