Christopher and I are meeting at The Crusting Pipe at 7:00pm on Tuesday 19th August for a steak and some port. No theme, just bring a bottle of port.
If anyone would like to join us please post here or send me a PM.

I confirm I will be joining you - permission from the boss granted!
What to bring.....? I think I have a Vargellas 1967 (bottled 1970!) that is one of a pair. Interested?

Excellent - and V67 will do nicely
At this point my intention is to bring a Graham's 1977.
See you there, Ben.
Anyone else?

Not at this point and we don't have our inside man (AHB) to speak to the right person at TCP. I was planning that we just turn up and find a table but will ask Christopher if he has a contact there that he could use to reserve it.
Another thought was hat we may want to keep our options open in case the weather improves, in which case we might want to switch to another venue.

A very quick and brief visit to TPF - I won't be joining you in person but I will make sure that I enjoy a glass of something appropriate that evening, while celebrating the 18th birthday of the oldest of the next generation of "Bridgeman" port drinkers in South Africa. He's hooked having shared a bottle of Vesuvio 1992 with Elizabeth and me and his parents.
So far I have also had two South African ports, Allesverloren 2005 (enjoyable, but lacking complexity, but at $2 for a generous glassful from a freshly opened bottle at the bar, extremely good value for money) and a 2002 LBV from Bredell.
Have fun next week. I liked the joke "if the weather improves" - I hear you are enjoying perfect port drinking weather.
If you want to book the "Office", just call Andrew or Andy at TCP and ask for it to be held for you, but you may need more than 3 to get it.

I suspect some here may question the accuracy of this statement! Personally, I have enjoyed trying Australian and Kiwi "ports" and would like to be able to do so more in the UK. Particularly as I have discovered an Aussie Tawny called Benjamin!
