Record number of users

How was it possible to get 156 users on the site at the same time on Monday June 25th? Look at the statistics on the index page.

AHB (can we call you Al-B?),
The site is being crawled over by Yahoo, Google etc. this process seems to generate multiple Guest users. 5 of us were logged on last night and watched this happen in real time - quite spooky

Thanks for the link to the previous discussion on this. An interesting read. The folks on this forum are currently rather prolific in the number of messages being posted and I can't currently keep up. I have about 40 minutes of time spare right now and thought I'd drop in to see what had been posted since my last visit yesterday afternoon.
And stone the crows, I find THREE DAMN' PAGES of new messages.
