Opening a 1970

As I had posted before, I'm ready to open a Cockburn 1970. Having sought feedback, I'm going to decant half tonight and then rebottle half in a 375. Tomorrow, I'll decant the 375 approx. 6 hours before serving. Therefore, I'll have a course with the 24 hour decant, and a course with the 6 hour decant. Two other courses are also being served with a 1970 Bordeaux, and a 1970 Cali Cab (anyone wanna guess when I was born?). Anyway, I thought I'd make one last post...any other thoughts on this? I'll decant the 24 hour version and cover it with cheese cloth and leave it out overnight.

Here goes...

By pure coincidence, I opened one last night - nice clean decant, immediately approachable, but not really mature yet..

TN will follow..

Wow, you guys were going for exact dates. Actually, I was born in December (1970), but with a pregnant wife, due in December, we delayed the opening and accompanying dinner until now. So now we'll be joined at dinner by my 2 week old daughter!

Well congratulations to you and your wife for having an extra guest for your birthday dinner!

And starting her interest in Port with Cockburn 1970 - very good.

The 3rd TPF child of 2008 if I remember correctly. Unless there are some we/I do not know of.
