In other words, might Asimov write about the tasting? And, if he might, everyone should know this and, before anyone's name was used, he/she would have to agree.
Please vote using the poll, and if you have conditions please add them as comments.

For sure they will include the tasting along with pictures in print and/or blog. They must be famous or noted and have some value they can add... They can pay for their own dinner, lol..
Honestly, I think we are pretty tight on the amount of port being served. One or two off bottles then it's a very tight evening of port.
As wonderful as having this line up is, it's not the most novel, never-been-done kind of tasting either. Most of us have had every bottle presented and served in several combinations of this line up in different tastings.
Since I am not organizer or host, I am good with any final decision.

If we invite someone, we will be paying for everything, dinner included. My only conditions are the usual journalistic ones: no names used without permission, etc.
As to bottles, I can always pull another Graham out of my cellar, if necessary.

I'd prefer Asimov, only because he's very visible to NYers. If he can't make it, then we'll go for Suckling. Let's see how the poll turns out, first, tho.

Suckling will probably be in Havana for the big Cuban cigar festival that starts soon. Or he might be at his home in Italy. It is, of course, possible that he will be passing through NYC on Fri 13 but he is not based here. I would love to have Suckling, not so much for exposure as for expertise. Asimov would be the best exposure in NYC and, therefore, could help build our group

Was kidding on that one... Will have to ask him if he wants cheese or not with his Happy Meal.

The obvious route from Cuba to Italy does not go through New York.
