My wife has finally accepted my obsession with port! I got a 1/2 bottle of Dow 20 YO tawny as a gift this morning.

I think she realised the futility of denying my enjoyment of port!

Typical conversation in the Roots' Residence:
Me:
I found this good deal on this or that port. Should we buy a couple of bottles?
LadyR:
A couple of bottles!? Are you crazy? We need at least a case!
Me:
Whatever you say dear.
I'm blessed.

Typical conversation in my house:
Jo: Yet, another case of port has mysteriously appeared in the garage!
DRT: Most of it belongs to Alex Bridgeman and Andy V. I'm just looking after it for them.
Jo: Do you think I'm stupid? How much did that one cost?
DRT: It was a bargain.
Jo: Good. So were these shoes; and these boots; and this coat; and my new haircut.
DRT: You look lovely darling. Would you like a nice glass of wine?
Jo: Yes please.
I'm blessed too.

I decanted a Sandeman '60 yesterday in my favourite bar here..
..greatly impressed the girls by observing Buddhist tradition and pouring a semi-circular libation on the road outside..
..it was the dregs of course..!
Am now blessed from many directions

Now Derek, please stop drinking all "my" Port

I suspect that there are two conversations that go on in my house. The one that was spoken and the one that was heard.
The spoken conversation goes like this:
Me: I bought you some more wine from WinesTilSoldOut this week, and a couple of bottles of Port. It should all get here next week.
Kari: Cool, what kinds?
Me: Some [insert random red wine that was on sale this week] and some [insert another random red wine that was on sale this week]. The Port is a bottle I've been trying to find for a while, and I found it for a really good price. I also got another couple of bottles of 20-yr old to replenish my stock.
Kari: Yum!
The heard conversation goes like this:
Me: I bought you some more wine <blah blah> this week <blah blah blah>.
Kari: Cool, what kinds?
Me: Some [red wine] and some [red wine]. <blah blah blah.> <blah blah blah.>
Kari: Yum!

Your snoring was appalling last night. Kept me awake for hours...... Did you drink port last night..................Even Rocky (the cat) wondered what the noise was............
O & E
I suffer from catarrh.......
Sadly, Mrs H's love of vintage port was blunted years ago by the savage migraines it induced. Port has lost its romantic status, and is but one of the causes of the snoring which I can admit freely on the web, but which I vehemently deny at home.

Port does not cause snoring, sleeping causes snoring.
Solution - stay awake and drink more port.

I'm also blessed that Derek looks after all my port...
...and I look after all his, and even take deliveries for him. Elizabeth just thinks the timing of Derek's latest delivery was just too late for when I met up with him last week to give him back some of his bottles which I was looking after.
And I also have Elizabeth's permission - nay, instruction - to purchase at least another 6 pack of Morgan 1991. Her favourite port to date and one which I am told I must purchase again.
I too am blessed.
