A very fine lineup of wines and a couple of Ports at the end, surprisingly followed by a couple of stickies. Difficult to pick out the best wines but the Chateau Palmer 1988 against Ornellaia 1997 pairing was inspired, both showing elegantly and beautifully. The Port flight of 1977 Warre against 1980 Dow was a wonderful contrast of styles, with the delicate structure of the Warre being blasted by the brute force of Dow - the Warre was very popular. A cracking 1977 Brunello, a delightful 1996 Meursault, a pair of Beaucastels, a pleasing Burgundy and several others filled the evening. The last pair of sweeties were really nice, I always enjoy a Sauternes and the 2003 La Tour Blanche finished the evening off perfectly...
... if it weren't for the fact that we went out after.

Port is basically a red drink
