Symington buys Quinta de Roriz !

http://www.revistadevinhos.iol.pt reports today that the Zeller Family has sold 100% of the shares of Quinta de Roriz Vinhos S.A. to the Symington Family. The Zellers owned the Quinta since 1815.
There had already been a close partnership between the two families for several years about the grapes of Quinta de Roriz.
It seems like João Zeller wanted to go ahead with a high-end-turism project for the Quinta and he had tried to separate a little bit the ties with the Symingtons two years ago - but the global crisis prevented this project from being realized - and now João decided to sell the shares to the Symingtons.

The Symington webmaster is slow: no mention as yet at www.symington.com/news.asp.

Roriz sold grapes to Kopke for much of the 19th century, and to González Byass in the early twentieth. Not sure where they went after that.

The Symington's haven't announced anything because the deal was only closed yesterday.
I reaaly advise wines from this company, specially the Vintage 2005.
