Tonight, we're having some friends over for dinner. They all like a glass of port, but have never tasted the really good stuff. In return for giving us some very good sailing lessons, we've decided to give them a bit of port education. So, three ports will be opened (we can't really do more, or we will run out of bottles to fast...)
Cockburn Special Reserve
WHY, you may ask. Well, it's meant to be educational isn't it? That, and the fact that I'm more or less crippled after a capsize practice... call it payback.
Warre's Otima 20 Year Old
It's good to show a good tawny, if only to explain the different production methods. And this is the only tawny we have.
Fonseca 1985
It's the best vintage port we have here, and this should definitely show them what good vintage port is all about.
Looks like it will be a fun evening.

So if they vote for the cockburns, although for its category it isnt that bad, do invite them again. Cheap guests.
When they vote for the Warre, well let them pay the next beers. But if they go for the Fonseca, do not invite them again, as they do drink your good stuff.

Re: Tonight: a bit of port education
A great time was had by all and it was a good tasting. The Cockburn did its job in being rather bad (sorry Axel, I really don't like this port), the Warre was a nice revelation for most as they never had a decent tawny before, and the Fonseca was its usual incredible self. Such a great port, and so incredibly young still.
