First we opened:

• Croft 1963;
• Graham 1980;
• Smith Woodhouse Madalena 1988;
• Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo 1997.

We had a stroll, to see the Eiffel tower, during which we bought a 1997 Rozès, then the Frenchman arrived so Derek decided that we needed to open two more 1977s.

• Graham 1977;
• Croft 1977;
• Rozès 1997.

The Frenchman left after about two hours.

1997 Rozès: avoid. About €25 from Nicolas.

The nose was appallingly tanky, perhaps even like a lagare. This did not fade with time. Derek smelt meat, with which I partly agreed. To taste Derek thought raw meat.

Bottle barely drunk and assigned to cooking. Avoid.
