A small tasting of Noval and Nacional

Last Saturday, when getting out of the train in Regua I received a call from Christian Seely and he asked wether I intend to participate in a "small tasting of Noval and Nacionals" that he prepaired. Having been together with some brits last time at Noval I was aware of the typical understatement of the UK-based Port lovers, but what I encountered at Noval was something that really blew my mind.
Since my time is quite limited right now, please get an image from Jamie:

I will continue to write more about this soon.

Very cool. I read about it on Jamie's blog and it looks like a spectacular tasting. Please do post notes once you have the time.

Ronnie, I definitely will and I will not complain, but I did not even put in notes for the last tasting in June and the next tasting is Warre on Friday. To my very surprise the following wines were there:
Silval: 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007
Noval: 83, 87, 94, 97, 2000, 2003, 2007
Nacional: 63, 70, 75, 82, 83, 87, 94, 97, 2000, 2003
What more can you ask for.

What a fantastic tasting. I've not tried many Nacionals from the "dark era" and will be really interested to hear what you thought of them.
