ID Request

I was sent two pictures of Port for Identification reasons and do have no idea what they might be.

Your opinions, please.

Here it says that Correa Ribeiro was purchased by Gilbert & Co.

From the descriptions on the label this looks like an old Colheita.

Thanks for the quick response, Derek. Have Coheitas ever been produced without a year written on the label? Any idea about the W on the first bottle?

The label says "1880" - I assumed that was the year/vintage?

I think Colheita is a fairly modern description, Garafeirra or Garafeirra Particular seem to be the descriptions used in the first half of the 20th century and before.

It's also true to say occasionally, barrels of top quality port are discovered but their contents cannot be identified with certainty. If the wine is worth bottling, the lack of positive identification would mean that at best, these bottles could only be labelled as vinho velho.
