1967 Quinta do Noval
Moving above posts to here. This being left as a shadow.
Edit: this thread used to hold a second set of TNs from a bottle of 1967 Quinta do Noval. Those posts were moved, but in case of links to this thread, one extra post was created to allow the thread to live, even if only as a pointer to the new destination. Then new posts, on a new subject, started appearing. Hence this explanatory note. Enjoy.

I have an urge to begin to populate this shadowland.
Bit cold today.

On this day in 1967 Salli Richardson was born. She was in 'I am legend'.

I have noted the ellipsis kerfuffle. Now where is the issue with ellipsis? Pretty straightforward I would have thought.djewesbury wrote:[uses correct ellipsis]

Apparently I was using three dots, separately (!) instead if a proper ellipsis (which has different spacing). Now that I've found the proper ellipsis on my iPhone I am able to comply with the the whims of our admins.LGTrotter wrote:I have noted the ellipsis kerfuffle. Now where is the issue with ellipsis? Re: Shadowland
Is this thread equivalent of the fifth day at the Gabba? I'm going to run on the pitch and play french cricket (but not on the square).

Actually I think this thread is a sort of 'world turned upside down', a 'Temporary Autonomous Zone' within the PortForum. We can do as we will here, wander around in our slippers if we like... (I just used three dots instead of a proper ellipsis. We can do that here.)

I am appalled that I seem to be appearing in a tasting note in the tasting note section. I am running on the square all unknowing.

You're drinking Graham 85? Lucky boy. I am finishing off some Graham 70. It's very juicy on its third day.. More so than it was yesterday, which is strange.LGTrotter wrote:Scratch and sniff?djewesbury wrote:Your wish == my command

Re: Shadowland
I have been looking at L'assemblage's 70 Graham for £940 per case for about a year now. Add all the trimmings brings it up to around £100 per bottle and I just keep buying other things. Is it worth it? Would you spend the wrong side of a grand for a case of it? Understand that in my current fiscal situation this would mean much manoeuvring and lying to my spouse (which is wrong).

Re: Shadowland
It is a very good port. Not worth lying about though. I think a whole case is excessive. Get some odd bottles when you can; I picked up 7 from Fine + Rare and shared them with Derek; they also come up in auction and can be a bargain..

Good answer, I have come through the 'what have you got there?' 'nothing darling' phase of my relationship. But I do hanker for cases. Proper cases with twelve good men and true in them.

Are you ascribing this to a fit of pique when his wife discovered that he had bought a case of 1847 Cockburn without telling her?djewesbury wrote:Flinders Petrie's wife flew home with his head in a hatbox on her lap. Be warned.

Although this risks escalation.

Leaving shadows in the TN section causes an indexing problem. Look at the end of the vintage-sorted index to see the effect.jdaw1 wrote:Moving above posts to here. This being left as a shadow.

Re: Shadowland
The thread and posts in MD will not be affected, but the "shadow" posts in the TN Index section will disappear. The former are real, the latter (although identical to the former) are just an administrative inconvenience that serves no good purpose.
