1991 Morgan's After effects

Half way through. But I'm beginning to sing as I filter each particular refill. Which I think is a good sign?

"High on a Hill sat a lonely Goatherd, yodell, odel, odel, yodell hey he he!"

Alan

Has yours gone quiet?
I have a friend who was a goatherd - he hates that song.

Conky wrote:"High on a Hill sat a lonely Goatherd, yodell, odel, odel, yodell hey he he!"
Isn't it "yodell, odel, yodell hey he ho" ?

This is the most intellectually rewarding TN I have ever seen - well done Alan

OK - I Googled it - sad, I know...

This is the result...

High on a hill was a lonely goatherd
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Loud was the voice of the lonely goatherd
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Folks in a town that was quite remote heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Lusty and clear from the goatherd's throat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

O ho lay dee odl lee o, o ho lay dee odl ay
O ho lay dee odl lee o, lay dee odl lee o lay

A prince on the bridge of a castle moat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Men on a road with a load to tote heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Men in the midst of a table d'hote heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
Men drinking beer with the foam afloat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

One little girl in a pale pink coat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
She yodeled back to the lonely goatherd
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Soon her Mama with a gleaming gloat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo
What a duet for a girl and goatherd

Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Ummm (ummm)...
Odl lay ee (odl lay ee)
Odl lay hee hee (odl lay hee hee)
Odl lay ee ...
... yodeling ...

One little girl in a pale pink coat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hoo hoo
She yodeled back to the lonely goatherd
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Soon her Mama with a gleaming gloat heard
Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hmm hmm
What a duet for a girl and goatherd
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Happy are they lay dee olay dee lee o ...
... yodeling ...
Soon the duet will become a trio
Lay ee odl lay ee odl-oo

Odl lay ee, old lay ee
Odl lay hee hee, odl lay ee
Odl lay odl lay, odl lay odl lee, odl lay odl lee
Odl lay odl lay odl lay

HOO!

Zebedee time I think...

Hang on a cotton picking moment!

Even in my tired and emotional state (Thats what politicians are called when they are sozzled).
Read those lyrics again! A Man coupes with a 'Litte girl' and a duo becomes a trio with the mothers blessing!!!

I may have to report something in the morning! Shouldn't be allowed...

No, the Mother turns up to stop the shenanigans... you coppers have dirty minds.

Forget my suggestion of Jury Service! A clear crime and you leftist liberal do-gooders let him off!

Alan,

In can see a SUN headline emerging - file a report in the morning, just after you spend an hour looking at what happened after you went to bed

I'm never going to watch the Sound of Music at Christmas again, without having the Childline number handy and a 'Hang em and Flog em' Possy on stand by.

This conversation is going to a place that is even darker than my Avatar - who would have known what would happen when Conky started posting TN's :?

If your son thinks that picture is a beautiful Spring tree that brings joy to the viewer, I think he's got a great career ahead of him, as a High Court Judge!

'Let the Court rise, for Judge Send-em Down Turnbull'

Whatever the taste, the Morgan 1991 seems to have a very distinctive affect on the mind. Much the same affect, as best I can tell at this distance, as a gin and tonic.

Chugging along well. I'm losing the subtilties of flavour and concentrating on the smoothness of the drink. Its developing a stronger heat, with an shade of apple to the aftertaste. To me thats not peculier, I often get that when there's a tad too much alcohol about. Surprised its kicking in now, as most of my experiences have been of gradual intergration, not the other way round. Still having fun.

48 Hours

Last half a glass. Finally saw the sediment. A couple of tablespoons worth, and I've not got a decent filter. Drinking it in subdued lighting as I suspect it may be cloudy, and I dont want to know. Lovely smooth warm taste. Again that slight dryness to the aftertaste. Very pleasant nightcap. Not a Crackerjack, but a very pleasant drink, and worthy of sharing. 89/100

Alan
Alan,

Is this the first time you have ever scored?

Derek

Yep! Anywhere. Even in my head! I always go off scores, and would love that search facility on our Tasting Notes. But if I'm going to be a user or leecher, I better start chucking in my own.
Mind you, I hope they are a tad shorter than this thread was!

Well done on the score. I can't argue with it. Which means nothing really but I thought I'd say it anyway

I was going to append my TN to Alan's to aid comparison in the future, but I positively refuse to put a serious tasting note after a whole pile of posts that more rightly deserve to be in meaningless drivel. (Question to the members and Creator - should these be deleted now that they have outlived their relevance?)

New topic has been started for my 1991 Morgan TN. Hope that OK.

Heaven forbid that TPF should now show more highly in google when searching for goatherds than when searching for Vintage Port.

But I thought I would mention that I scored the wine at 88 points.

Can I suggest that Admin copy this thread to Meaningless Drivel and delete everything apart from Alan's TN's and relevent comments from the copy of the thread that is left here in the TN section?
