Sorry, I've gone all Julian on you all, but this gets me every time.

Think... it's got 'finite' in the middle.

I'm not picking on anybody in particular but now follows the wrong spelling:

"definately"

There is no 'a', stop it.

Rant over, I apologise (with an 's') for my imprudence.

That must be me. I looked at the 'a' and thought, 'thats right, whats the fuss', but then when i saw it with the 'i', I sort of knew that was right as well!

Get a bloody Spell Check!!!

You are not alone...

...and what's more: you don't use it often.

There is no need to apologise.

Those being pedantic about postings really should be precise, be able to operate curly quotation marks, and know when to use and how to type an ellipsis.
  • It does indeed have “finite† in it, though not quite in the “middle†.
  • ‘Thinks: it has “finite† in it, not “finate†.’
  • An ellipsis is a single glyph, not three full stops (start reading here).
Other than that you are doing well.

I think you will find that there are two letters before 'finite', 'de' and two letters after 'ly', thus making 'finite' bang in the middle of 'definitely', unless you are going to start using weighted values for individual letters.

As for the use of curly quotes and the ellipsis, my lap-top keyboard ignores attempts at ASCII characters, so I simply can't be bothered. At least I always use three dots. I accept that it was not a follow-on, but I like ellipses.

Careless—and I probably won’t be allowed to forget it

Whoops! I was working with “definite†. Careless—and I probably won’t be allowed to forget it.

I'm not sure I can take Grammer and Punctuation corrections seriously off a man who makes such casual mistakes!!!

Bump - sorry, it's been annoyng me again. Do a search on "definately" and you will soon find the culprit.

I did apologise before, and defanatly meant it. It is obvious that I difenitley can't spell that word no matter how much I try.

It is a real pity that you have confirmed how much it anoys you :P

"anoys" - hmmm, whatever that word is.

Please note that I have only resurrected this eight months down the line. I wonder if you have phases of using words and "definately" is moving into Aries whilst "anoys" is rising.

Disappointing, KillerB, disappointing. Even Jdaw doesn't fall into traps like that one

Oh I assumed that you meant it but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the gag, so I picked on it anyway. I kind of liked the astrological theme.

I try my best. Sometimes it works, other times people just assume I'm being weird (again).

Sometimes when I think people are being weird I pay them compliments.

Probably for the best.

Agreed. I do it to avoid losing Admin privileges
