1977 Fonseca vintage port
Lightest of the four Fonseca wines on the night, red with a faint rim of orange. Restrained nose, with a bit of a menthol streak over a minty nose. Sweet entry, marked tannins covered by sweet jelly beans and gentle caramel with plenty of redcurrant - but rather simple. Plenty of sweet strawberry jam on the aftertaste, with a long finish of strawberry and chocolate. 91/100. Drunk 26 September 2010.

F77, the lightest colouration at the table. Nose: some candy. Some red cherry. A hint of artificial sugar. To taste the lightest. The acidity better harmonised than the other Fonsecas. Very long.
Voted third by me; unranked by the others.
