For dinner at the
1955 horizontal Christian Seely donated a 1955 Chateau Longueville au Baron de Pichon-Longueville. Wow! Huge nose, still full of tannin structure. Bone dry, delicious, and tannic. ‟Just huge!”, says my note written after eight ports. Very impressive.

To find a claret that was able to stand up for itself after 8 impressive ports was a real surprise.
This was a delight to drink and a wonderful accompaniment to a delicious steak & kidney pudding.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to tasting good quality claret so I do not have much to say about this wine apart from it was extremely nice, went well with the steak and kidney pudding and was a spectacularly generous contribution from Christian.

I don't even normally like red wine and I could tell that this one was amazing. Superb!

Second bottle of this was send to Germany to complement the 55 tasting there. Showed exactly alike. Very good. Thank you deeply, Christian.
