Dark but translucent. My first thoughts were, apparently: "Is this disappointingly hot on the nose? Is this heresy?". In the mouth intensely sweet, followed by cherries and plums. Hugely long after-taste. Simply fabulous.

Ex-cellars. Gentle mid-red colour, 70% opaque. Warm nose of spicy fruitcake, lots of plum pudding and damsons. Sweet wine, bringing gentle tannins and acidity, with an entertaining dusty component. Rich on the palate, full of candied cherries and dried fruit. Warm fruit-cake aftertaste and an incredibly long finish. One to keep or drink. 93/100. Drunk 14 November 2010 after 6 hours decanting.
