From the LBV Old and New - part 2 tasting:
The cheapest bottle on show, having been bought for £5 from Asda a few years ago. So, unsurprisingly, wine of the night. A dark, thick looking wine with a slightly medicinal nose but not over-powering. Chewy dark fruits in the mouth, especially cherries. Far too young but genuinely enjoyable - better than many a VP.

Dark red. Red cherry nose. Very smooth entry with dark fruits, good tannins and not ready to drink. Needs at least 5 years.

My WOTN.

Almost opaque, but not quite; a lovely deep red. Quite empty on the nose, but swirling releases some astringent blackcurrant. Empty initial impact on the mouth, but this grows into very fruity and surprsingly tannic blackcurrant beast. The blackcurrants dominate the aftertaste and fade to reveal sweet, dark chocolate. 86/100.
