Organisation thread.
Croft 1970 (JDAW)
Smith Woodhouse Madalena 1988 (DRT)
Quevedo 20 Year Tawny (OJMQ)
Fonseca 1985 (CMAG)
Croft 1963 (RAYC)
Cockburn 1970 (THRA)
Gould Campbell 1977 (RAYC)
Taylor 1980 (Team)

This was a splendid evening. It was great to welcome Oscar back to London and enjoy some very fine bottles of port. Unfortunately, mine turned out to be a dud bottle (sorry chaps) but the others were very nice indeed.

I really enjoyed this tasting and it was great to see everyone on good form, though the combined effects of coming to the tasting off the back of an overnight flight from the West coast of the States and 3-weeks of cycling with little alcohol meant that I was in far worse shape at the end of the evening than i had been anticipating!

The F85 really is an impressive port and seemed to taste much more mature from this bottle than on the three other occasions i have had the pleasure of trying it, and i enjoyed the GC77 a lot. The Cockburn 1970 is also a very dependable port that i rather like.

The reason The Crusting Pipe exists. Delightful evening, with (mostly) very satisfactory drinking.

Except for the tease: Beef Bourguignon on the menu, but, DRT and I duly Pavlovified, was then unavailable.
