19th of August in the UK?

Post by Joost »

Hi all,

A Portloving friend of mine and I will (or can easily plan to) be in the UK on the friday the 19th of August. Is there any chance to meet some of you and taste some ports?

19th August might work for me. Currently I plan to be at the Test Match that day. But should be able to be in the centre of London by about 7pm.

Unfortunately your summer holiday may well coincide with mine...meaning i will be out of (or leaving) the country. Though this is not yet confirmed and if not, I am sure i will be free.

I think I’m planning on getting back to the UK a few days before the 19th so it could work for me, too.

It would be great meeting you and London is perfect for us.

I don't have special preferences for a theme. Any suggestions? I should ask my friend as well...
I don't have a real large collection of ports and almost all of it is not yet 20 years old. Main houses present are: Fonseca and Taylor, but I have some Smith Woodhouse, Graham, Dow, Niepoort, Warre Cavadinho, Calem and some smaller houses as well... But of course I can try to find some decent Port...

I am afraid I have to cancel, plans have changed...

Alex and Jacob thank you for your possitive response, and hopefully I'll be able to visit a PortForum tasting in my next UK visit...

No problem at all - it means I have more time for the cricket.
