I should be there too 88) The Warre ’70, Fonseca ’85 and Graham and Vesuvio ’94 alone would justify the admission price ;-)

Odd that there isn’t a Symington wine between 1970 and 1994!

Thanks for the heads-up; I'll be there too... now all we have to do is persuade them to hold it at TCP or the Steak Exchange... ;)

Thursday: my employer’s publication evening. Alas.

Do :tpf:ers want their own small sticky labels with which to label their glasses? A mite mischievous, but would they be wanted?

I would imagine that this event will end at 8.30ish.

Do we want to book somewhere for dinner/drink after? Any suggestions?

I'd have thought some form of sustenance was mandatory...

I'm happy to meet for food and drink either before and/or after. I'd been considering suggesting an early steak at TCP around 5ish to have food in stomach prior to the tasting, but would grab a sarnie/pasty/whatever beforehand if we're meeting for food after.

You guys will have far better suggestions for venue; I wouldn't mind visiting El Vinos (do they do food too?), happy to try somewhere different, whatever people fancy (except an Offal bar!).

My understanding is that each participant is allowed one glass so it is difficult to see where confusion would arise. Thank you for the offer, but I think we should be able to cope.

I seem to have a spare ticket for this event but don't know who it was bought for. If anyone wants to buy the spare off me, please let me know asap otherwise I will return it to Berrys for them to resell it.

Thinking of bringing a pint glass? :o

Your imagination is perceptive - I just asked, and sure enough the event is due to run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm (with the wines being 'introduced from 7pm'). By my reckoning, for 18 wines that means 5mins/wine; I think one of our number might be challenged to write his notes quick enough

Contrary to popular belief I am still alive and would like to bid for this spare ticket if possible...thanks in anticipation.

I can think of no better use for it - it would be good to catch up with you again. Consider it yours.

Are you sure someone from the News of the World hasn't hacked into Cookie's account?

My appointment to give evidence at the Leverson Enquiry has been confirmed for 17.00hrs on 1st December....however, I shall be attending the 'Turn-Bridge' Enquiry booked for the same time as this will be less arduous as it moves into the late evening me thinks 88)

THRA now also attending.

His and my vote go to just booking the Crusting Pipe - i don't think we'd need to take a bottle each given the tasting beforehand but perhaps we could agree amongst us to take a couple of bottles along.

What do other people think?

Cheers

Rob

Good for me.
I can bring something, chip in for others to bring, or would also be happy to try the TCP's Ch91.
