Tasted November 2004, TN by LadyR:
Not decanted. We used our port tong for the very first time and we even succeeded.
Rusty brown colour. A bit too medical on the nose, but besides that it shows lovely dried fruit and earthy tones. This port is elegant, multi-layered and very smooth, due to satin tannins. Complex taste of dried strawberries and vigs, spicess and leather flavours. It shows matured characteristics, almost going to tawny style, but is still very lifely. Long finish with milk chocolate and vigs. Peak drinking, 94 points.
