Dear all,

this should be a save the date topic already since I am planning to organise a "20 years of port" tasting in Germany. The event will take place at the Bayer Kasino and will be co-hosted by the IVDP and sponsored by the Bayer Kasino, Selters and Schott-Zwiesel, who will provide the Alvaro-Siza Glass and Dekanters. Date is Nov 9th.

For professionals this tasting will be free of charge and for non-professionals there will be an entry fee of 20 EUR. Naturally I do treat all registered members of the port-forum as professionals.

Sleepover possibilities are available at the Bayer Kasino. Leverkusen is located directly in between Dusseldorf and Cologne, perfectly connected by trains from both airports.

So i should not forget my Law Society accreditation and Solicitors Regulation Authority practicing certificate then...

I would be keen if there is a UK-contingent heading out, though this would be my fourth trip to Germany in the year (80s tasting and Oktoberfest x 2) so need to do some holiday/budget calculations before i commit!

thanks a lot. Very much appreciated, but for this tasting I am expecting some 150+ visitors and this will be organised like a fair, where you get an Alvaro Siza Glass at the entrance and then can freely taste your way through.

Could you confirm the date of the 20 Year Tasting please? The thread title says November 9th but the first post in the thread says November 23rd.

All Ports inspected today and ready to go alike the glassware which arrived the second I inspected the Port.

Good to go!

PS. After the fair we will have a "bottle Party", meaning that everyone will bring a bottle of wine or Port which she/he wants to share with the community. I will bring a couple of Magnums of Wine and champagne and a Port that noone I know ever had before.
