2007 Quinta do Noval vintage port

Deep red and with no purple, opaque. Floral nose, a little closed; what there is is dominated by lavender. Thick texture, little immediate fruit but then a wave of fruit and tannins explodes over the palate. Dry aftertaste of ripe blackcurrants. A massive finish. Really impressive. 92+/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
