Does anyone know anything about Quinta do Bucheiro? I came across a ruby port from this Quinta today, but the Quinta is one I've not heard of before. Thanks.

I searched Google and found:
1. Multiple instances of
a link that goes to a website that doesn't appear to exist.
2. Quinta do Bucheira make a house port for
Selwyn College
3. The ISO standard abbreviation for Quinta do Bucheira is "
Bu".

Iknow a little
I visti the quinta in Sept.2011 It`s located in the little village Celeiros -(same place as Quinta do Portal)
The first vintage they ever made by them self, is Vintage 2005, then they have 10 and 20 y - ruby, tawny, ... looke at the website
http://www.quintadobucheiro.pt/
It very difficult to find, only a little sign at the road, about 1 km from the quinta. NO sign at the wall on the quinta - buy som local people helped us.

Thanks. I appreciate the information.
It seems the Quinta might have links with Oxford and Cambridge in some way. As well as providing the house port for Selwyn college, Cambridge, I have also discovered that they supply the house Port to Christ Church, Oxford.

I'd have thought it more likely that the link is between
Russel Mellor (as importer/merchant) and the colleges rather than with the Quinta direct.

That seems very likely. I wonder what the back-story is; how Russell Mellor discovered Quinta do Bucheiro?
Never mind. I now have a bottle of College Ruby port - expect to see a tasting note appear in due course.

I’m glad to see the quality of the house Port at Selwyn has gone up since my day (I think it was the conventional custom-label Quinta and Vineyard Bottlers); though it does seem a shame that it appears that they are just ordering the bottles through an English wine merchant and having them relabelled here. Or, that’s what I assume they are doing, since I don’t think the IVDP would let you export a ‟Fine Old Wood Port”.
