A request for empty cases

As some of you know, my other half is a keen gardener. She finds empty 12 bottle wooden cases very useful in the garden for growing salad plants, vegetables and young plants.

She has asked whether anyone has (now or in the next few months) empty cases in the UK which they could spare? If anyone does, please post here and then I'll make arrangements to collect.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't have any.

Have you thought of asking BBR (or other merchants) what they do with the wooden cases they empty when putting wines on their shelves?

Derek

PS: Rather than putting vegetables in wooden boxes, presumably so that they don't have to be eaten, would it not be more sensible to simply put them straight onto the compost heap?

BBR have lots - but they charge £5 per case (which goes to charity). Having a couple of dozen cases in the garden makes a £5 donation per case a touch too expensive - roughly the equivalent of a case of Bomfim '92! I'd rather give Berry's my money in exchange for something with bottles inside the case rather than for empty cases!

Graham Malvedos 1999 and 2001, currently discounted by supermarkets, comes in a one-bottle four-sided wooden box. My boy thinks that these are excellent for building train tunnels and bridges. Please keep these boxes and give them to me.

I have seven from a recent purchase and probably a few others kicking around the house. How many tunnels do you need?

Spent a merry hour reducing claret cases to kindling. My brother has had the Graham 77 case for motorbike bits. Sorry an' all.
