1986 Warre LBV (unfiltered)

Bottled in 1990. Decanted off a healthy looking deposit of port sludge. Crystal clear appearance, rich red in colour with a thinning rim; 60% opaque. Closed on the nose, some dusty red cherry. Restrained impact, fruit is soft and sweet, full of candied cherry and dark Christmas cake. Rich palate, very full in flavour and with great layering and complexity. Tannins are very soft and most of the balance comes from the acidity. Huge, rich aftertaste dominated by the candied cherry, which leads to a lovely concentration of cherry and marzipan. Absolutely terrific port, fully up in quality with all but the best vintage Port. 91/100. Drunk 01-Oct-12. Pop 'n' Pour.

I need more of these!

Hence the current dearth of Warre's LBV on the market?
