G94 - pricing anomaly?

Graham '94 appears seriously unloved from a price perspective and I would be interested in hearing from members of this forum why this is the case. This port can routinely be had for just under 30 GBP per bottle in bond which to me seems odd given the vintage's standing, comments from critics and more importantly, the producer's own view of the wine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Magnus

My impression: there just seems to be a lot on the market at the moment. 94s in general, with the exception of Taylor/Noval, seem to be very cheap at the moment. Likewise F85 seems to be going quite cheap!

I recall drinking this a bit young and it tasted liek that

not entirely pleasurable as it 's in a dumb phase and definitely not opened up until a very long decant.

it might be possible that the prices reflect that as I doubt most people would be interested in a 40 hour decant prior to drinking.

Drinking 94 Grahams is not high on the list. Has a long time to go. Haven't bothered taking the nails off my OWC and won't for a while.

I believe an investment into Grahams 94 would be the best thing to do for 30 GBP as this wine will age and evolve extremely well. I had this numerous times already, latest in Summer in Porto properly decanted for some hours.

G94 is a great port. At under £30 a bottle, it is a port that is a good value buy, although it is likely to need another 5 or so years to come out of its closed phase and another 20 years after that to reach its peak.

But I really enjoy the Graham 1994 even today provided I remember to open it a day and a half before I want to drink it.

I also believe that the G94 is outstanding and underrated. I have had it blind on at least 3 occasions along with the Fonseca, Taylor, and Vesuvio and it has averaged 2nd and never finished last. At $45 it is a steal.

Had this last night. I can report it's fantastic, though still very young at the moment and has a nice long life ahead of it.
