G77. Red, hint of orange, 40% opaque. Nose had menthol. To taste soft red fruit, with a hint of Taylor-esque grit. Strawberries came late. Lovely port.

Semi-opaque plum colour showing. Looks young. Closed nose. Soft, rounded palate that had length. Excellent port and the best of the 70's. Even then I don't think it will hit the heights of the 60's. Then again, it has been backward for many years and the colour is young.

Mature red colour, but light - only 20% opaque. Fairly empty on the nose. Sweet fruit on entry, with the fruit becoming more lively and revealing gentle tannin and strong acidity. Delicious palate, tending towards elegance rather than power. Sweet and elegant initially, but then a big burst of heat before an enjoyable finish. Somewhat unbalanced - if port does go through cycles of opening up and shutting down, perhaps the G77 is about to go into a closed period. 87/100
