Every now and then you open a bottle of port and think "Wow. That's b****y good stuff!"

This evening I was lucky enought to open a bottle of Fonseca 1977 which left me gobsmacked. It was an absolutely delicious bottle, mature but still full of sweet, plummy fruit but with the acidity to be in perfect balance.

I'll post a tasting note later, but for now you'll just have to put up with "B****y good!"

Sounds like a good one; I had a similar experience with a bottle of Croft 70 on Xmas Eve.
Love it when you get one like that, especially when you're not expecting it.

I had a stunning Dow and Graham 1963 a few weeks ago. Both SeanC and I rated the Dow 97ish points. One of the best Dow's I have ever had and have had this vintage many times. Could not think of one thing wrong with either bottle.
