T80, decanted 13:00. Bright red, 60% opaque. To taste rich sweet bright red cherries. Medium-plus weight. Lovely, very long. My WOTN, and nobody else’s.

Red core, showing as early maturity; 40% opaque. Some heat showing on the nose, swirling releases some cherry. Sweet fruit on the palate, with black licorice and generous sweet blueberry. Slight tannins show and there is an underlying dryness; rather lightweight on the palate. Light aftertaste, with a candied blueberry and a long, tasty finish of pine resin. Elegant and attractive drinking. Served blind, this was guessed to be Warre 1983. 88/100. Decanted 7 hrs.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
