Recently I have acquired six 2007 LBVs. From Tesco: Taylor; Cockburn; and a Tesco BOB made by the Symingtons. From Waitrose: Sandeman; Graham’s; and a Waitrose BOB made by the Symingtons.
2007 LBVs would make a pleasant non-expensive theme for a small gathering. I’m willing to provide these six, which get us started and, numbers dependent, might even be sufficient. The ‟Where?” question has the obvious answer. But who and when?

The "who?" question also has at least a partly obvious answer. I am flexible on the when.

JDAW has amassed a small collection of 2007 LBVs from various supermarkets and is offering these for adoption and participation in a 2007 Supermarket LBV Offline.
Wednesday 24th April in the usual place?
JDAW and AHB are in. Anyone else?

Yes I imagine that come the evening of the 24th we'll all be suffering hideous port withdrawal... Go on then, DJ + 1 please (RB, dexter).

I would like to join you, but probably for food only as i'm trying to limit the amount i drink (but - as a trade-off - aim to indulge in the "good stuff" when i do!). As such, 07 LBVs have limited appeal (though the Sandeman is rather tasty).
I'll probably have a bottle of VP or something with me, but will see how i feel after 23rd. If i do, those who are not being purist in their approach to LBVs would be welcome to share.

Do we really need more?
Yes, of course we do, you have persuaded me. I'll bring a back-up VP in case either RAYC or AHB's is unduly compromised*.

Maybe I'll bring a bottle of Co-op 2007... I hear it's a top-flight wine.

Actually I will bring some of
this (a bottle, maybe two, but not, as implied in the link, a case: sorry, jdaw).

Damn I bought one of those today, for £13.84: ‟Bottled by Quinta & Vineyard Bottlers”.

If this comment was serious, excellent. Please do. (Alas
www.co-operativefood.co.uk is utterly useless. But there’s one near me I’ll check.)
I haven’t yet checked Sainsbury’s, but the
online catalogue might have, at best, Graham and Cockburn, both of which we already have.
Morrisons have Taylor, Cockburn, Graham all of which we have and
Morrisons 2007 LBV Port, ‟Sourced from the same Symington estates as many of the 'big boys'”. (Though at least some of the description was written for the 2006 LBV, but the ’07 is definitely SFE.) Please could somebody volunteer to acquire one?

Are M&S the only chain grocers supplied by Taylor Fladgate? Or are other BOBs Taylor? Most seem to be SFE.
What does BOB stand for?

It was an attempt at the lowest form of wit, I admit it.. BUT I accept the challenge, and will try and find one.
Incidentally, has anyone posted anything regarding which quintas / brands the shippers are using for their BOBs? Is Sainsbury's SFE the same as Tesco's SFE?

Use your palate and nose, and judge for yourself. But some differences are merely marketing: if two supermarket are selling Blogg Brothers’ Ruby, there can be price competition. If one supermarket sells Blogg Brothers’ Ruby ‘Pebbles’, and the other sells Blogg Brothers’ Ruby ‘Gravel’, there is no price competition. And the wines might, or might not, identical. Indeed, might be identical in some years, and not in others.

It might be more productive to find a Morrisons.

I am not far from Morrison's. I will volunteer to bring a Morrison's own label 2007 LBV provided everyone else promises not to. I do not want to be left with an unopened bottle of 2007 LBV that I am forced to include on my drinking list for next year!

Yes I also promise. I see there is a Co-op Food near to my father's house and also (if that proves dry) one off Kingsway.

I will visit Asda later today, as well as Morrisons, and see whether Asda have any 2007 LBVs not already included.

I now own a bottle of Morrison's Own Label 2007 LBV. Asda sell Own Label Finest Reserve, but not LBV (why would you when BOB Finest Reserve is £8 and Cockburn 2007 LBV is £9?). Lidl only sell a reserve ruby (from C da Silva @ £9.29).
Costco are reputed to have a good own label range of ports if anyone is near a Costco.
Could the owner of the thread add a list of the ports we will be drinking to the first post please?

Are you doing blind, or sighted?
Blind would eliminate label bias.

There’s also a simplicity to it. We might have post-BFT leftovers. I have invited one trade person to show up when he can, if he can. That flexibility is easier if everybody knows everything all the time.

That man might be bringing a BOB that is, very unusually for the UK market, produced by a shipper he represents.
