2009 Niepoort vintage port

Surprisingly red, with little purple; 90% opaque. Luscious fruit on the nose. Generous fruit shows on the palate but without baby fat. Structure dominates over fruit. Good length, but lots of restraint. 87/100. Drunk at the BFT on 24th April 2013.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
