2010 Maydie Tannat Vintage

At a Wine Society tasting in Belfast, 18th June 2013
Very close to a young port in its style and character. Very dark, about 85%-90%, thick and leggy. The nose has cherries and fruit cake. On the palate it's densely fruity - currants and small black and red fruit. It doesn't just turn into overpowering tannins though, it's well balanced, with a decent finish - but yes, it's lively. The Wine Soc suggest only holding on to this until 2018 but I can't help wondering how it might age...
