1986 Chateau Musar

A bottle bought from Wadebridge Wines, who acquired them from a local wine collector who had cellared them well. Fill was well into neck.
Popped and poured, this was a delicate ochre or rose colour; 20% opaque. Beautifully scented, full of roses and cedar wood. The type of wine you can sniff for ages. On the palate this is beautifully balanced and full of flavour, with the perfect mix of meat juices, rredcurrant jelly and cedar wood. Fabulous palate and just a hint of tannin on the mid-palate. Great late palate development. An absolute explosion of flavour on the aftertaste and then a long and lingering finish that is full of flavour and backed by dry but soft tannins. A really fabulous wine that is at its perfect point of development now but will stay on its plateau for a decade or so. Stunning. 97/100.
