This is a powerful port, albeit one that currently is a little short in the mouth.

It has a totally distinctive nose: sweets of a kind that I sadly couldn't identify (RB suggested the kind of wine gums that are dusted with icing sugar). I thought I could smell black liquorice and fresh rhubarb (this is a Yorkshire port). But there's more, something else. Lots of green freshness.. Perhaps slightly stalky but not bitter in an unpleasant way.

Mouth brings exceptionally soft currants, very mild pepper and big sharp tannins on the gums. Very short finish, although it lingers on the gums.
