GC83. 80% opaque. Palate soft, heat, and dark plum fruit. As good as any in this company, but not Port of the first rank, nor even the second rank.

Very dark. About 80%. Alcohol in the nose. Coffee bitterness in the mouth. Not marvellously liked.

I thought the GC was a pleasant surprise, more drinkable than many on offer and certainly it outshone its more illustrious stablemates.

Firm red colour, 95% opaque. Lovely sweet raspberry jam nose, modest in volume. Soft and sweet entry; soft tannins giving burnt match flavours on the lively mid-palate. Lots of pleasant raspberry on the tongue. A big aftertaste, with a huge volume of fruit and a green wood structure that leads into a slight bitter-sweet finish. Impressive for the future, still quite youthful. 92/100.

Was tempted to open this one for Christmas. Not so sure now.

My experience with GC83 typically matches that of AHB's note, not jdaw1's or jdewesbury's.
Very puzzling.

And I was looking forward to this as well, having read recent notes from other tastings where it was WOTN. Maybe my palate was dulled by the rest of the company (the port, not those partaking of it). Or perhaps our notes were written at different points of the evening.
