Yesterday evening I went to the poshes christmas market I ever saw in my life. It was in the forecourt of Bensberg Palace (Schloss Bensberg, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Bensberg ), which is now a *****palace hotel with a 3-Michelin-Star-Restaurant (the "Vendôme"). You had to pay an entrance fee of 7 euros (one Glühwein included). There were a lot of stalls offering jewellery, scarfs and such things that appeal to female visitors. But there was also one stall (or rather a yellow-painted 1950ies American airstream travel trailer turned into a beverage cart) that was offering Veuve Cliquot carte jaune (from the Magnum). It was the first time in my life that I saw people running around a christmas market with champage flutes in their hands.
